who wants donuts?
aka the 1999 tR IASCA finals report
by: sancho
IASCA finals were held in Greenville, SC this year (far far from any recognizable human civilization aka TEXAS), which is clear across the country from a decent sized chunk of IASCA's competitor base. But, some folks did show up, some from as far away as JAPAN (the japanese guy took 2nd place in his class even though his car caught on FIRE). And the manufacturer presence was there...
On the teamROCS front, we had competitors present from Ohio (Marc "SUPER INSTALLER" Richmond and Brian "GET OUT OF B-MO's WAY, HE'S THE FRIGGIN WORLD CHAMPION FOR CRYING OUT LOUD" Morris), New York (Felix Froimovich) and Arizona (Patrick Gates)
!!! EVERY tR COMPETITOR LEFT WITH A TROPHY !!!
Brian "b-mo" Morris - 1st Pro 151-300
Marc "marc-ass" Richmond - 4th Expert 601+
Patrick Gates - 5th Expert 601+
Felix Froimovich - 2nd Novice 301-600
as did our buddies
Mickey Brones - 2nd place (can't remember his class)
David Usnick - 5th novice 301-600
"uncle" Larry Chijner - ?5th? in some class
sorry about the lapses in memory guys... damned free beer...

heres somethings i learned at finals this year:
- you can build a car in 4 days and become a world champion- brian morris
- you can go to only 2 shows and place at finals- david usnik
- i was pissed because i didnt get to do the " dead last dance " for marc richmond
- dont slam folding chairs on the ground , it scares people
- food and beer while waiting for trophys was awesome- team xtant, autosound mag.
- dont do donuts with nick rovansic in the car- he will try to eat them
- vws do awesome burnouts- marc richmond
- john pitts is very tall
- and sancho didnt fall and have a huge bump on his head, he just puked alot.....
anyways im tired and im out
showtime
im still limping from all the legwork...........
