Impressions:
James Horner is one of my favorite score composers (alongside Jerry Goldsmith). For Braveheart, he found the greatest selection of instruments to portray the Scottish Heritage, and the most beatiful melodies to define the characters (interestingly, both loves of the main character have the same melody, but Murron has a simpler arrangement, while the Princess has a more sweeping movement). Not to say this album is one big pussified melody....the pounding drums and heart beat rythms of the battle songs are a sure to break your woofers in, if not out.
