Technical:
This disc is the normal 44.1 kHz 16 bit PCM variety, and does not contain any multimedia tracks. The sound quality is fine. This album is actually compilation of songs done since the 80's. The liner note contains the lyrics, but you won't have any trouble figuring them out.
Impressions:
Good ol time Big Band Swing is NOT dead, it's alive and well, and the Cherry Poppin Daddies do it so well. All the good old drums and horns are tempered with chauvanistic womanizing drinking epithets worthy of having the windows rolled down and the music turned up at stoplights just to piss people off (not the we at teamROCS condone that shit). Zoot Suit Riot we all know from the radio (throw back a bottle of beer...). The drum solo that starts of Dr Bones is a kick in the head that leads quickly into a jazzy little piano piece before the fast pace full orchestra action of the song takes effect. Finally, the Cherry Poppin Daddies Strut is a cabaret hit, imho, which will make you want to dress in cheesy bowling shirts and hang around sports bars with a beer in your hand....if you did'nt already.
